Floyd County Circuit Court

We’ve successfully represented criminal clients in Floyd Circuit Court for over 50 years. Stephanie Shortt represents the Commonwealth and leading the prosecution, while Wendell Peters serves as the court clerk.

Criminal term begins on the first day of March, June, September, and December. Court convenes at 9 a.m. and grand juries convene immediately after on the first day of term. Typically cases are set by agreement of counsel with consent of the court.

If for any reason you need to reschedule your court date, you should speak with your defense attorney to file this request. If you’re not represented by an attorney, you may wish to speak with the clerk’s office. We work with the courts to figure out a solution that works both for the court and our clients.
