Franklin County Circuit Court

Over the years that we’ve been practicing, we’ve represented many criminal cases in Franklin Circuit Court on behalf of our clients. Timothy Allen serves as the Commonwealth’s Attorney, while Teresa J. Brown serves as the court’s clerk.

Criminal term begins on the first Monday of February, April, June, August, October, and December. Cases are pre-set by the court’s administrative assistant, Nancy Ellett, with prosecution and defense attorneys involved in the process. Typically criminal cases are set the week after the preliminary hearing.

If for some reason you need to request a continuance, you should speak with your defense attorney who will coordinate and file the continuance with the court. If you have not retained an attorney, we suggest that you speak with the clerk’s office.
