Caldwell serves as the Commonwealth’s Attorney for Roanoke City Circuit Court (as well as General District Court), and Brenda Hamilton oversees the Circuit Court’s affairs as its clerk.

Criminal cases begin the first Monday every month and cases convene at 8:30 a.m. Grand juries are also convened on the first Monday of every month.

If you need to file for a continuance and you’re retained an attorney, contact him or her to initiate the continuance process in Roanoke City Circuit Court. It’s typically dependent on your reasons for requesting a continuance and whether or not you must be present. If you’re not represented by an attorney, calling the clerk’s office may be helpful.
