A young man in his last year of college was recently charged in Roanoke County with possession of marijuana, a Class 1 misdemeanor. Unfortunately, he had been in a complicated situation. He had been under the influence of alcohol when a friend asked him to hold the marijuana as the friend was getting pulled over for a DUI. He foolishly accepted and admitted to the police officer that he had marijuana.
Since the man had previously been charged with underage possession of alcohol, he was concerned about what another misdemeanor charge would do to his criminal record and his future. Since the drugs weren’t even his, he decided to hire an experienced Roanoke drug crimes lawyer to help handle his case. Attorney Cerid Lugar attended two court dates, and since the drugs weren’t his to begin with, she was able to achieve a dismissal of charges and bond revocation.
Case results depend upon a variety of factors unique to each case. Case results do not guarantee or predict a similar result in any future case.
